Update on LA Farmers Markets from StreetsLA

In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, StreetsLA has taken proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of Angelenos and our workforce while keeping essential services in our City operational.

All Farmers Markets in the City of Los Angeles are temporarily suspended until StreetsLA approves each market’s COVID-19 operational plan, under LA County and City public health orders and Mayor Garcetti’s March 30th directive. Operators of the Los Angeles Farmers Markets must develop and implement measures and actions to protect the vendors and the public from exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Please refer to the Bureau of Street Services’ COVID info page for the Farmers Markets submission guidelines, sample visual schematic, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Farmers Markets and Community Events bulletin.

Each Farmers Market is required to submit a schematic that shows how the Farmers Markets will address the requirements to bss.spevents@lacity.org.

As of April 1, 2020, 24 Farmers Markets have created approved operational plans for COVID-19 precautions and should be open for business. StreetsLA is regularly updating the list of approved markets – see the current list here: https://streetsla.lacity.org/covid
